世界の様子 Environment

ジュラ紀初期には「超大陸パンゲア」が、
北のローラシア大陸と南のゴンドワナ大陸に分かれはじめた。
高温多湿で降水量も多い気候だった。

The supercontinent Pangaea broke up into the northern Laurasia
and the southern Gondwana in Early Jurassic.
The climate was hot and humid with steady rainfall.

生物 Life

温暖で湿度も高く、降水量も多いため、動植物の種類も増えて大型化していった。
植物ではイチョウやソテツなどの裸子植物が繁栄し、内陸部まで進出していった。
恐竜も大型化し多種多様になっていった。
海ではアンモナイトが栄え、海にもっとも適応した爬虫類「魚竜」の姿も目立つ。

The climate of hot and humid with rain allowed plants and
animals to increase in variety and to grow bigger.
The gymnosperms (Gymnospermae) such as Ginkgo or Cycads
flourished and spread across the inland.
Dinosaurs also were much larger and of great variety.
Ammonites flourished in the sea and appeared "Ichthyosaurs"
which were the most highly adapted reptiles for life in the sea.
