牛の角のような形をしていますが、二枚貝の仲間です。 この角のような形は長く伸びた左右の殻で、中央部分 の割れ目が左右の殻をつなぐ蝶番（ちょうつがい）になります。 白亜紀に急激に繁栄した「厚歯二枚貝」という仲間になり、 ほかにも トルレイテスなど分厚い殻と変わった形をした 二枚貝です。 Immanites is a genus of the bivalve although it has a form like the cow's horn. Form like this horn are the right and the left extended husks. There is a crack in the center and this become a hinge which connects husks of the left and the right. Immanites is a genus of the bivalve explosively prosperous during the Cretaceous called "rudist". Many bivalve of strange forms, such as Torreites, were in rudist.
